This spirit kettle by William Soutter has its share of dings from normal use over more than 100 years however one thing not dented is its character that is most certainly intact.
I've found this particular kettle to be of a stunning shape and form beautiful curves and elegantly slender in handle and spout and a perfectly fitting lid.
The markings bare out its age and are clear to read: The markings indicate that this particular kettle is from between 1879 and 1900 with the ampersand horizontally placed between the letters; an early piece of magnificent craftsmanship and the era and shape is almost certainly Art Nouveau. I've battled with my self over this one and quite reluctantly added it to the store rather than our cabinet.
This will grace any cabinet and make quite a conversation piece.
